An Incident at the Bus Stop

I was at the bus stop waiting for my bus to go home. It was an exceptionally warm day and I was perspiring profusely. There was no one else at the bus stop except for a lady and an old man.

 

I noticed that the old man looked pale and weak. His hands were treambling. As the bus approached, the old man stood up. without any warning, he collapsed.

 

The lady and I were so shocked that for a moment, none of us reacted. It took a moment for us to recover. The lady quickly called for an ambulance on her movile phone while I knelt by the old man. Although I was not sure if the old man was conscious, I talked to him and assured him that everything would be all right.

 

Within minutes, the paramedics rushed to the scene. They praised me for not moving the old man as that could have worsened his condition. Working as a team, the three paramedics helped the old man onto a stretcher. As I watched the departing ambulance, I hoped that the old man would be all right and get well soon.
